A Beautiful Day for Hawkeye Football

The Hawks played Northwestern on Saturday.  It was black and gold day, so even sections wore gold and odd sections wore black.  We're odd, so we wore black.(Yes, I know that opens up a whole can of worms...just don't go there!)  Anyway, it looked great with the black and gold stripes around the stadium.  We did the same thing once last year.

The neatest thing was the card trick during the National Anthem and just after it.  During the National Anthem we held up cards which then made designs of red, white, and blue stars and stripes.  It was very cool!

Just after that we flipped the cards to honor America's Farmers.  I was very disappointed in the Northwestern marching band because they refused to hold up their cards for the ANF support.  It doesn't matter if you are from Iowa or Illinois, we all depend on farmers.

The video shows how it looked, but seeing this does not show how cool it really was to be there and see it!

We are very proud to say #5 Tanner Miller is a former MP student!  He had an excellent game!

And the best part of all----Iowa  41  Northwestern 31
